China City of America: Catskill Mountains, New York, as a conceptual plan, China City of America (CCOA) is designed to be developed over a period of several years. Guided by CEO Sherry Li, the development will span residential, multi-use commercial, educational, and entertainment elements. China City of America selected Sullivan County, Thompson, a town of 15,000, as its location for its status as a United States Citizenship Immigration Services’ EB-5 program Target Employment Area, (Rural area with under 20,000 people), as well as unemployment rate. Based on 2014 annual average labor force area, the government agency in charge has determined this area meets the minimum threshold of unemployment to qualify as TEA. A focal point of the CCOA plan in Town of Thompson is the creation of an innovative education center that combines Eastern and Western academic approaches. The education center will be developed in tandem with accredited colleges as a way to create a modern comprehensive institution that includes a business school, college of film and arts, medical training center and culinary training.
